Single Parents Child Support Program
Supporting Single Parents. Creating Brighter Futures for Children.
Being a single parent can come with unique responsibilities and challenges. Balancing work, education, family responsibilities, appointments, and everyday life while caring for children can sometimes feel overwhelming.
At Humble Wellness Foundation, we believe that single parents should have access to support that helps them build stability, pursue opportunities, and move forward with confidence — while their children are cared for in a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment.
Our Single Parents Child Support Program is designed to provide accessible childcare support and essential resources to help reduce some of the everyday pressures faced by single-parent families.
Our Goal
Our goal is simple:
To support single parents by providing children with a safe, nurturing environment while giving parents greater freedom to work, study, attend appointments, pursue personal development, or manage important responsibilities.
We believe that supporting parents also means supporting their children.
By creating a dependable and caring environment, we aim to help families build greater stability and confidence while ensuring children have opportunities for positive interaction, care, and development.
What We Provide
Free Childcare Support
Eligible families can access no-cost daily childcare support from Monday to Friday, helping single parents manage important responsibilities without carrying the additional burden of childcare costs.
Program schedules, eligibility, availability, and service arrangements may vary.
Safe & Inclusive Environment
Every child deserves to feel safe, welcomed, respected, and cared for.
Our goal is to provide an inclusive environment where children can participate in age-appropriate activities, interact with others, and feel comfortable while their parents attend to their responsibilities.
Caring & Trained Support Team
Our program is supported by caring team members and community professionals who contribute to creating a positive environment for children and families.
Depending on the program and individual needs, support may involve personal support workers, counsellors, facilitators, caregivers, and other appropriate staff or community partners.
Healthy Snacks & Essential Supplies
We understand that small practical needs can make a significant difference for families.
Where available through the program, children may have access to:
- Healthy snacks
- Diapers
- Hygiene essentials
- Age-appropriate toys
- Activity materials
- Other basic child-care resources
Our aim is to help families access practical support while creating a comfortable environment for children.
Emotional & Developmental Support
Children benefit from environments that encourage positive interaction, learning, confidence, and emotional well-being.
Our activities and support initiatives aim to encourage:
- Positive social interaction
- Emotional expression
- Confidence and self-esteem
- Age-appropriate learning
- Creativity and play
- Healthy communication
- Positive relationships
Where specialized developmental or mental-health needs are identified, families may be encouraged to connect with appropriate qualified professionals or community services.
Why This Program Matters
For many single parents, childcare can be one of the biggest barriers to employment, education, training, appointments, and personal development.
Without reliable childcare, parents may have to postpone important opportunities or choose between caring for their children and meeting other essential responsibilities.
By providing accessible childcare support, we hope to help parents:
- Pursue employment opportunities
- Attend work or educational programs
- Participate in training
- Attend important appointments
- Access community services
- Manage everyday responsibilities
- Build greater independence
- Spend quality time with their children without added financial pressure
Supporting Children While Supporting Parents
Our program is built around the understanding that a family’s well-being is interconnected.
When parents have access to support, they may have greater capacity to focus on employment, education, personal development, and family stability.
At the same time, children benefit from a supportive environment where they can play, learn, interact, and receive appropriate care.
This creates a positive cycle where supporting the parent helps strengthen the family as a whole.
A Community-Centred Approach
At Humble Wellness Foundation, we believe that no parent should feel alone when facing the challenges of raising children.
Our approach is centred on compassion, dignity, inclusion, and practical support. We want single parents to know that asking for help is not a weakness — it is a positive step toward building a stronger future for themselves and their children.
We also recognize that every family is different. That’s why we aim to connect families with appropriate resources and community supports based on their individual circumstances.
Who May Benefit?
The program is intended to support single-parent families who need accessible childcare and community support.
Families may benefit when a parent needs childcare support while:
- Working
- Looking for employment
- Attending school or training
- Participating in community programs
- Attending appointments
- Managing important family responsibilities
- Working toward greater personal or financial independence
Eligibility, availability, program hours, and participation requirements may apply.
Creating Opportunities for Families
We believe childcare support can be more than simply providing a place for children to spend the day.
It can create an opportunity for a parent to attend a course.
It can allow someone to go to work.
It can give a parent time to attend an important appointment.
It can provide a child with opportunities to play, learn, and build positive relationships.
Most importantly, it can remind families that their community cares about their well-being.
